Honour Roll
Entrepreneurs in Science Students

Since its inception Entrepreneurs in Science (EIS) students, mentored by its Director Dr Wallace Bridge, have competed in UNSW’s student business planning completion. Currently, the competition, the Peter Farrell Challenge Cup (PFC), is administered by the Australian School of Business’s Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneur (CIE). Student teams from both EIS programs, the undergraduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate, prepare business plans for technology-based opportunities in their capstone courses (BIOT3091 and STRE6030, respectively).
The Peter Farrell Cup spans three months and requires students to source a real commercial opportunity, develop a winning business model, and present it as a formal business plan. Finalists are required to pitch their plan to an expert panel at the awards night. Winners are decided on the basis of their written plans, pitches, and their ability to address questions from the panel.
EIS students have performed exceptionally well since they commenced competing in 2002. Total prize money in cash alone won by Diploma students competing in the competition is now up to a staggering $65,500 and total prize value is well over $100,000. The placing record stands at 5 x 1st, 7 x 2nd, 5 x 3rd, 1 x 4th and 3 x 5th...a fantastic achievement!
It is therefore imperative to recognise the stellar achievement of the EIS students and we have appropriately made an Honour Roll to recognise their performance. Well done to all listed!
More information on the winning teams can be found on the EIS news page (http://www.eis.unsw.edu.au/news/newsindex.html).
